In recent years, I have gathered and reinterpreted a selection of texts from the Scandinavian sagas, focusing on those women who act as heroic protagonists or play essential roles within their communities. I have also included contemporary writers who, through their own research, have reimagined these ancestral voices.
Each story I share originates from a carefully translated source text. Building upon this foundation, I conduct an emotional and spiritual analysis and offer a personal, creative reinterpretation, aiming to highlight what I consider profoundly heroic—not only their actions, but the transformative impact of their decisions, made with courage, wisdom, and deep commitment to their kin.
These narratives are accompanied by illustrations as a visual extension of my interpretation. The image does not merely complement the text—it expands it. Through line, color, and composition, I invite viewers to imagine, feel, and connect with what the words evoke. In this dialogue between word and image, another dimension of my creativity emerges: an artistic expression that seeks to make the invisible visible, give form to the intuitive, and open doors to the sacred feminine.
DISA transcends age and gender. Its reach is universal because art—in all its forms—speaks directly to the soul, and each person receives it through their own experience, memory, and sensitivity. Here, heroism is not defined by who embodies it, but by how it is lived: with courage, empathy, justice, and a profound connection to what makes us human.
My intention is to create a space where woman—warrior, goddess, disa, ancestor—is honored in all her complexity, and where anyone can recognize themselves in her light, her shadow, and her power.
Manifiesto para DISA
Durante los últimos años he reunido y reinterpretado una selección de textos de las sagas escandinavas, poniendo el foco en aquellas mujeres que actúan como protagonistas heroicas o desempeñan roles fundamentales en sus comunidades. También he incluido a escritores contemporáneos que, desde sus propias investigaciones, han reimaginado estas voces ancestrales.
Cada historia que comparto parte de una fuente original que he traducido con cuidado. Sobre esa base, realizo un análisis emocional y espiritual, y ofrezco una reinterpretación creativa y personal, buscando resaltar lo que considero profundamente heroico: no solo sus acciones, sino el impacto transformador de sus decisiones —tomadas con valentía, sabiduría y compromiso con su clan.
Estas narrativas se acompañan de ilustraciones como una extensión visual de mi interpretación. La imagen no solo complementa el texto: lo expande. A través del trazo, el color y la composición, invito a imaginar, sentir y conectar con lo que las palabras evocan. En este diálogo entre palabra e imagen, se manifiesta otra dimensión de mi creatividad: una expresión artística que busca hacer visible lo invisible, dar forma a lo intuitivo y abrir puertas hacia lo sagrado femenino.
DISA no tiene límites de edad ni de género. Su alcance es universal porque el arte —en todas sus formas— habla directamente al alma, y cada persona lo recibe desde su propia experiencia, memoria y sensibilidad. Aquí, el heroísmo no se define por quién lo encarna, sino por cómo se vive: con coraje, empatía, justicia y una profunda conexión con lo que nos hace humanos.
Mi intención es crear un espacio donde la mujer —guerrera, diosa, disa, ancestro— sea honrada en toda su complejidad, y donde cualquier persona pueda reconocerse en su luz, su sombra y su poder.
